Comedy: A swinging British secret
agent travels back in time to
pursue his archenemy who's stolen
his "mojo" and schemes
to blackmail the world with a
moon- based laser gun.
NITTY GRITTY:
The movie begins with Austin
Powers (MIKE MYERS) enjoying his
honeymoon with his new wife and
former fellow agent Vanessa
Kensington (ELIZABETH HURLEY).
When he tries to use the TV
remote control he discovers that
Vanessa is really a fembot, a
female robot, sent by Dr. Evil
(ALSO MIKE MYERS) to kill him.
After destroying the Vanessa
fembot, Austin finds himself a
swinging single once again, but
he also learns that Dr. Evil has
returned.
During his absence, Dr. Evil's
assistant, Number Two (ROBERT
WAGNER), has made a one-eighth
size clone that Dr. Evil names
Mini-Me (VERNE TROYER). Mini-Me
even has his own, smaller Mr.
Bigglesworth (the cat).
Dr. Evil has developed a time
machine and sends his Scottish
henchman, Fat Bastard (ALSO MIKE
MYERS), back in time to steal
Austin's "mojo," his
confidence-inspiring libido. Dr.
Evil has also hatched a plan to
blackmail the world by
threatening to incinerate
Washington, DC with a giant laser
gun based on the moon.
Austin discovers his 'mojo' is
gone and realizes he can no
longer "shag,"
Meanwhile, Dr. Evil drinks some
of the 'mojo' and is instantly
attracted to Frau Farbissina
(MINDY STERLING). They have an
affair and we discover how Dr.
Evil's son Scott (SETH GREEN)
came about.
Basil Exposition (MICHAEL YORK),
sends Austin back in time to 1969
to recover his "mojo"
and stop Dr. Evil. Helping Austin
is Felicity Shagwell (HEATHER
GRAHAM), a CIA agent.
They find Dr. Evil in a volcanic
lair and when they try to stop
him, they are captured and
imprisoned. Dr. Evil leaves for
the moon where his laser gun is
based.
THE ENDING:
Austin and Felicity escape and
follow Dr. Evil to the moon.
There, Austin encounters Mini-Me
and they fight. Finally, Austin
propels Mini-Me out of a toilet
and into space.
Dr. Evil has captured Felicity
and placed her in a glass
chamber. When Austin shows up,
Dr. Evil says Austin must decide
whether to save the world or save
Felicity from the poison gas.
Austin knocks the laser gun so
the beam misses Earth, but he's
too late to save Felicity. She
dies from the poison gas. Dr.
Evil sets the auto-destruct
sequence for the moon base and
escapes through his time portal.
Then Austin uses the time machine
to go back in time 10 minutes.
Now there are TWO Austins. The
real Austin and the '10 minutes
later Austin' Together, they save
the world and Felicity. They all
escape from the exploding moon
base through Dr. Evil's time
portal.
