Blade
DOWN &
DIRTY:
Action/Horror: A half human, half
vampire continues his quest to
rid the world of
"normal" vampires.
NITTY GRITTY:
Having been born a half man, half
vampire after his pregnant mother
was attacked and bitten by a
vampire, Blade (WESLEY SNIPES)
has made it his quest to rid the
world of bloodsuckers.
Armed with an arsenal of silver
and garlic spiked firepower
that's been crafted by his
longtime mentor and fellow
vampire eradicator, Abraham
Whistler (KRIS KRISTOFFERSON),
Blade fights a seemingly never
ending battle against the undead.
Things heat up when a young and
rebellious vampire, Deacon Frost
(STEPHEN DORFF), sets out to
shake up the "pure
bloods" and the hidden
society of vampires.
Believing his kind to be the
highest rung on the evolutionary
ladder, Frost sees humans as
nothing more than cattle and
wants to rule all vampires.
The current leader, Dragonetti
(UDO KIER), thinks Frost and his
band of heavies are too radical
and bring undue attention to
their lifestyle and cause.
Blade gets an unlikely partner in
the form of Karen (N'BUSHE
WRIGHT), a young hematologist who
herself was bitten and infected
and is racing against time to
find a cure.
Meanwhile, as Blade deals with
his growing tolerance to a
blood-substitute serum that keeps
him from becoming a true vampire,
he must find and stop Frost from
resurrecting an ancient and all
powerful vampire spirit that will
forever make him leader of the
vampires.
THE ENDING:
Frost and his henchmen capture
Blade and need some of his blood
for the resurrection ceremony.
The ceremony begins and the
vampire spirits are drawn out of
the 'pure bloods' and
concentrated in Frost.
Blade confronts his mother, she's
not dead, but a vampire and he
has to kill her.
Blade fights Frost and using
several blood coagulant syringes
causes Frost to explode into a
large blob.
Blade continues his vampire vigil
and Karen looks for a cure for
Blade.
WHAT EVERYONE WILL BE
TALKING ABOUT:
The special effects and the way
the movie 'looks'. The opening
scene in the underground dance
bar is 'killer'.
