Jackie
Brown
DOWN &
DIRTY:
Drama: A middle-aged flight
attendant sets a double cross
into motion that may make her
rich or get her killed by her gun
dealer boss and the government
agents trying to catch him.
NITTY GRITTY:
Jackie Brown (PAM GRIER) is a
forty-something flight attendant
who runs money for gun dealer
Ordell Robbie (SAMUEL L.
JACKSON).
Stopped by Federal agent Ray
Nicolet (MICHAEL KEATON, Jackie
is given the option to turn in
Ordell or go to jail. She chooses
jail.
Ordell hires Bail bondsman Max
Cherry (ROBERT FORSTER) to get
her out. Ordell wants to know
what she told the Feds. Ordell
has half a million dollars in
Cabo San Lucas, and Jackie's been
bringing it back bit by bit.
Nicolet wants to nail Ordell, and
Ordell wants his money, so Jackie
hatches a plan that may get them
all off her back and make her
rich in the process. With Max's
help, Jackie uses Ordell's
friends, ex-con Louis (ROBERT DE
NIRO), and beach bunny Melanie
(BRIDGET FONDA) to work her
switcheroo.
THE ENDING:
Louis shoots Melanie to shut her
up. Ordell kills Louis because he
thinks he's holding out on him.
Then Ordell shows up at Cherry's
office to get his money and is
killed by Ray Nicolet.
Later, Jackie asks Max to leave
with her and the money, he thinks
about it, but she leaves without
him.
WHAT EVERYONE WILL BE
TALKING ABOUT:
Robert Forster as Max
Cherry. This is the same guy who
played Miles Banyon on TV back in
the 70s? Get out!
