The Edge

DOWN & DIRTY:
Action/Adventure: Two men must battle not only the Alaskan wilderness, but also their own fears and beliefs of each other.

NITTY GRITTY:
An intellectual billionaire, Charles Morse (ANTHONY HOPKINS), his super model wife, Mickey (ELLE MACPHERSON), and her photographer, Robert Green (ALEC BALDWIN) head to the Alaskan wilderness for a photo shoot.

After celebrating Charles' birthday and hearing stories about man-eating Kodiak bears, Charles and Robert, along with their assistant Stephen (aka 'bear chow'), fly off looking for a local hunter.

The plane flies into a flock of birds, and crashes into a remote area. The pilot is killed and the three find themselves lost, hungry, and cold.

Charles, a well-read and practical sort, takes charge and plots their rescue, but a run-in with an angry bear changes their plans. After killing Stephen, (big surprise?) the bear begins to hunt the other men who must do what they can to protect themselves.

They must also deal with the freezing weather, and the fact that Charles believes Robert is having an affair with his wife and may be plotting to kill him.

THE ENDING:
Charles looks for something to start a fire. He finds a paper sales receipt in the box his birthday present--a knife--came in. The paper confirms his suspicions about Robert and his wife.

Charles kills the bear with a big sharp stick. Robert falls into a forgotten bear pit and is critically injured. Charles pulls him out and drags him to the shore of a lake. A rescue helicopter arrives, but Robert dies before it can get to them.

Charles goes back to his super model wife and confronts her with the evidence of her infidelity.

WHAT EVERYONE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT:
The performance of Bart the bear.
