DIRTY:
Comedy: The lives of several
people get tangled up as a
botched drug deal sets off a
series of interrelated events
that affect them all.
NITTY GRITTY:
It's Christmas Eve in Los Angeles
and Ronna (SARAH POLLEY), a
supermarket clerk, faces being
evicted from her place. Desperate
for cash, she agrees to fill in
for her coworker and moonlighting
drug dealer, Simon (DESMOND
ASKEW), who's headed to Las Vegas
with his buddies.
When Adam (JAY MOHR) and Zack
(SCOTT WOLF), two TV actors, come
looking for Simon to make a
purchase, Ronna sees a quick way
to make some money.
Visiting Simon's dealer, Todd
(TIMOTHY OLYPHANT), Ronna buys
twenty hits of ecstasy, which
she'll then turn around and sell
to Adam and Zack for a profit.
Unfortunately, she doesn't have
enough money for the initial
purchase and convinces her
friend, Claire (KATIE HOLMES), to
stay with Todd as collateral
until she returns from the deal.
Things get worse when she meets
with Adam, Zack and Burke
(WILLIAM FICHTNER), who she
suspects to be an undercover cop.
Flushing the drugs down the
toilet, Ronna avoids being
busted, but realizes that she
still owes Todd his money.
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, Simon and
his friend Marcus are 'given' a
sports car, go to a topless bar
and have a violent encounter with
a Vegas bouncer, who then pursues
the two.
THE ENDING:
Ronna goes to the supermarket and
steals over-the-counter drugs
like aspirin and diet drugs. She
replaces the lost ecstasy hits
with the 'fake' drugs and returns
them to Todd. Ronna and Claire
then go to the rave party and
sell the 'fake' drugs as if they
were ecstasy.
Todd discovers the fakes and goes
to the party and chases Ronna
outside. He pulls a gun to shoot
her, but a car runs into Ronna
knocking her into a ditch. Todd
thinks Ronna is dead and leaves.
After being chased by half of Las
Vegas, Simon and his friends
escape. Unfortunately, they used
a credit card at the topless
club. Todd the drug dealer's
credit card. The Vegas thugs show
up at Todd's place and offer to
shoot Simon in the arm.
After their weird dinner with
Officer Burke, Adam and Scott
also go to the rave party. In the
parking lot they run over someone
(Ronna) and panic and leave.
After some soul searching, they
return and find her in the ditch.
Thinking her dead, they pull her
up. But she's still alive.
Ronna gets out of the hospital
and made enough money at the rave
to pay her rent. They all go back
to work at the supermarket.
WHAT EVERYONE WILL BE
TALKING ABOUT:
The funny scene where
Adam and Scott have dinner with
Officer Burke and his sexy wife.
Adam and Scott think they want
some sort of kinky sex when in
actuality they just want to
recruit Adam and Scott to their
multilevel marketing company.
